Councillor Mark Cargill
I have lived in Alcester all of my life, am a time-served apprentice engineer and have travelled the world in pursuit of my career. I was an officer in the Merchant Navy for 11 years and latterly spent over 25 years in the water industry, designing and building water and waste water treatment plants.
I am now retired which allows me to devote as much time and energy as needed to support my community.
I stepped down in May 2023 after 9 years as your District Councillor. My final year (2022/23) was as Chairman of Stratford District Council. I was Mayor of Alcester in 2013/14.
I am currently Lead Councillor and Chair of the Planning Committee as well as Lead Councillor for the Eric Payne Community Centre.
I am married to Kathryn and have a daughter, Lyndsey.
