Councillor Dougie Gordon
I was born and raised in Glasgow, serving my engineering apprenticeship at Albion Motors. I moved to Bedfordshire with my wife and first child in 1983 on the weekend of my daughter’s first birthday. Having completed training in Computer Aided Design, I was disappointed to learn that my new employer had no plans to introduce it. I then succeeded in finding a contracting job at Rover through a company which required me to set up my own limited company, thus Chartsign was born in 1986.
I moved to Alcester 30 years ago and married Joy 22 years ago. Both my daughters are now in their forties. Having retired as Managing Director 5 years ago and returning part time as a technical consultant, I now believe it is time for me to contribute to the town and the community of Alcester.
Cllr Dougie Gordon was co-opted on to the Town Council on Tuesday 5 March 2024 and is Lead Councillor for Climate Change.
