Councillor Alison Leask
I moved from Birmingham to Alcester with my partner and our two children just over ten years ago. I immediately felt welcomed and very lucky to have such a lovely town in which to bring up my family.
I qualified as a nurse over 30 years ago, working primarily in the community. I have worked in a variety of roles such as Health Visiting and School Nursing, latterly working as a Child in Care Nurse, looking after the health needs of children and young people in care.
At the beginning of the pandemic, I started with Alcester Covid Volunteers. Although I didn’t feel like a very active member, I really enjoyed what I was able to do. Seeing the responses to people’s requests for help made me feel proud to live in such a kind and caring town. Being involved in the group made me feel part of a thriving community and was instrumental in my application to become a town councillor.
I am really looking forward to working on the Town Council and will endeavour to do my best in being an active member. I am the Lead Councillor for Youth Engagement.
