Get a move on! June 2021
The months of June and July were very active for some of our residents as the ‘Alcester – Get a Move On!’ project provided a wonderful opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing through exercise and movement. One-hour sessions were held by two qualified instructors every Saturday for six weeks to encourage residents over sixty to improve their physical health after spending time in lockdown.
These sessions aimed to improve spatial awareness through common exercises, such as stretching, balancing, and use of equipment to strengthen the core. The event also provided some much-needed social interaction, allowing the attendees to finally get an opportunity to engage with other members of the community.
All in all, the event was a huge success, with both the attendees and the instructors really enjoying both the experience and improvement.
